Job DescriptionThe Field Service Engineer will be responsible for traveling to customer sites to complete installations and troubleshoot automated foundry equipment. This position requires a deep understanding of automation, including PLC programming and troubleshooting. The engineer will travel nationally and internationally for 60% of the year, with projects typically lasting up to a week. A strong grasp of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and PLCs is essential. Additionally, the engineer must maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Responsibilities
- Install, set-up, inspect, service, and maintain various product lines in foundry and automotive plants.
- Conduct run-off of assorted foundry automated equipment and specialized conveyor systems for the automotive industry.
- Maintain positive relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Represent the company's interests positively at customer plants.
- Troubleshooting and installation of large industrial equipment.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting, including ladder logic programming.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally for 60% of the year.
- Certificate/Degree from a technical school or 3+ years of related experience.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Foundry experience.
- Engineering degree.
- Military experience.
- In-house manufacturing experience.
- Field service experience.
