Cardiac Stepdown | RN

• Location: Wausau, Wisconsin 54401
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Med Surg Intermediate Care
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Unit Size: 36 beds
• Patient Ratio: 4:1
• Float Requirements: May float to all inpatient units, including higher acuity units
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,990 - $2,130 per week

• Active Wisconsin RN license (required for all Wisconsin nursing jobs)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent Stepdown, Intermediate Care, or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN experience
• At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
• Experience with ventilators and tracheostomies required
• ICU and Level II Trauma experience preferred
• EPIC electronic charting experience preferred

• Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac and intermediate care patients in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Manage patients with ventilators, tracheostomies, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, traumatic brain injury (TBI), orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, stroke, and insulin drips
• Work independently and efficiently, adapting to changing patient needs
• Float to other inpatient units as needed to support hospital staffing
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC (preferred)
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as scheduled
• Flexible scrub color policy – wear any color scrubs
