
CDL Driver Class A - Heavy Equipment Hauler

- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Any issues found will need to be brought to the attention of our in-house mechanic
- Safely drive a Class-A truck hauling equipment on a flatbed/low-boy trailer in a variety of conditions, including urban, suburban and rural environments
- Deliver and recover a variety of equipment, tools, and supplies to and from the customer worksite
- Drive safely in tight settings such as construction zones
- Follow truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Report defects, accidents or violations
- Willingness to always wear your seatbelt and the proper/required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as hard hat, hi-visibility class II DOT rated shirt or vest, 6” lace-up steel toed / metatarsal protected boots, eye/ear/face protection on an as needed basis

What We Need from You:
- High school diploma or general education degree preferred
- Valid Class A CDL license and clean driving record required
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check required
- Must be able to operate manual transmissions (13 speed)
- Must be able to load, unload and secure heavy construction equipment
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly (sometimes staying out of town overnight)
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- Ability to secure a load to a trailer - Required
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
- Ability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment
- Experience in railroad construction is a plus
- Must be able to work a 40hr work week subject to overtime, on call, and alternate shifts that may include weeknights, weekends, and holidays - Required
- Able to work out of town on occasion
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, etc.); uneven surfaces; safety sensitive work environment
