Position Title: Logistics Coordinator (Truck Dispatch)Type: Full-time SeasonalJob Position Description:Serve as a central contact point for both truck drivers and customers, coordinating the delivery process. In this fast-paced job, dispatchers are responsible for scheduling and monitoring multiple trucks, customers, drivers, and routes.Company Introduction:Wendling Quarries, Inc. (WQI) is a third-generation family owned and operated business that produces crushed stone, sand and gravel for individuals and businesses in eastern Iowa and western Illinois.The bedrock of our company is composed of three main values:

  • Scheduling drivers to make material deliveries
  • Communicating with customers and sale's personnel about material details, delivery or pickup times, and special handling requests
  • Planning pre-determined routes and accommodating route changes as needed
  • Maintaining records of dispatched calls, driver routes, route changes, as well as delivery and pickup times
  • Keeping track of transportation regulations and laws to ensure that truck drivers comply
  • Logging customer shipping schedules and complaints
  • Preparing documents and generating invoices
Job Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience with Transportation Management Software
  • Experience in customer service
  • Knowledge of applicable transportation regulations and laws
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
Hours & Compensation:
  • Monday - Friday
  • 40 hours/week
