The Siri quality team is seeking an automation engineer to help us ensure that our products, like Siri exceed our customer expectations. Think beyond what features are supposed to do and creatively seek ways to measure the qualitative experiences. You will ultimately be responsible for understanding how well our products work, advocating for critical changes, representing how they'll be experienced by our customers. We are a nimble, fast-paced team that relies heavily on a tight relationship between Engineering, Program management and Quality Engineering. As a member of our passionate group in Siri, you will have the unique and rewarding opportunity to shape and improve our products to delight and inspire millions of Apple's customers every day.DescriptionYou will be responsible for designing, crafting, automating and integrating this test plan into a continuous integration environment. Day to day tasks will involve hands-on adversarial automated testing of iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, and HomePodOS. Additionally, you will use robotics, break code, and improve the overall quality of iOS for our customers. The ideal candidate for this position is flexible, outgoing, and ready to make an immediate impact on the team with new insights and a fresh perspective on QA processes, automation and execution. You will tap into your expertise to bring up new and exciting platforms, provide invaluable feedback, and make contributions to push our use cases and work you're doing to the next level. You will be pursuing a multi-functional role talking to many different teams within SWE and AIML to further improve the quality of our products and keep a mindful eye on how we can make them even greater.Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience working as an Automation Engineer in embedded systems
  • Strong experience in Python scripting, including development of test frameworks, automated tests for embedded systems
  • Strong experience designing, developing, and testing software for embedded devices, including familiarity with wireless technologies
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), using Git for version control and adhering to SQA methodologies
  • Experience in identifying performance KPIs for evaluation, creating test setups to capture metrics, and creating dashboards for data visualization
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to quickly prototype ideas / solutions, perform critical analysis, and use creative approaches for solving complex problems
  • Hands on experience with deploying Machine Learning tools to demonstrate real time telemetry data from Wireless systems
  • Academic knowledge of ML/NLP tools
  • Experience with large foundation models LLMs
  • Advance degree in Computer Science, or a related field
Pay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
