If you want to make a difference, choose to share your talents at Premier.Position Summary:The Community Mortgage Lender will focus on supporting Low to Moderate Income (LMI) individuals and Tracts, Minority Borrowers and Majority Minority market areas by developing referral relationships with realtors, community development groups, housing counseling agencies, faith-based organizations and other organizations dedicated to underserved borrowers or communities in the market area. As a brand ambassador for the Company, the CML will develop strategies to educate the community regarding the Bank's CRA programs and efforts to generate loans. Responsible for originating residential first mortgage loans and developing new retail mortgage business designed to create homeownership opportunities for targeted borrowers. The role will work closely with the CRA and Community Development teams to promote and advocate Premier Bank’s community products.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and implements sales strategies to establish relationships with realtors, community development groups, housing counseling agencies, faith-based organizations and other organizations dedicated to underserved borrowers or communities in the market area to increase homeownership referrals.
  • Interviews and counsels prospective mortgage applicants regarding loan programs and loan terms. Assist borrowers by making appropriate recommendations.
  • Originates residential mortgage loans to low/moderate income borrowers and in low/moderate income tracts using the bank’s loan origination software systems at the point of sale.
  • Creates awareness of Premier Bank’s product and services in majority, minority census tracts.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and respect to customers and bank partners.
  • Complies with Federal and State regulations as well as organizational policies and procedures.
  • Promotes bank products and services to loan applicants.
  • Completes other duties as assigned
Education, Certification, License and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in a financial institution with a minimum of two years of community lending experience
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage products.
  • Strong knowledge of procedural and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent sales, public relations and customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to adapt to various working conditions.
  • Responsible for knowing and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, as detailed in policies that include but are not limited to Bank Secrecy Act and other applicable anti-money-laundering rules, Fair Lending, Community Reinvestment Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, and other laws and regulations as they pertain to the position.
Work Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment. Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment, which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
