- Production of machined parts by programming and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine specifically lathes, vertical mills, and horizontal boring mills.
- Use of CNC modules to design materials based on blueprints or programmed command sequences.
- Modification of machines with attachments, fixtures, or specialized tooling to achieve different production capabilities.
- Set up and maintain machine operations, lubricate workpieces, and replace dull cutting tools.
- Monitor and adjustment of machine controls manually if programming proves inaccurate or machine is malfunctioning.
- Preserve quality and safety standards by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Programing mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
- Set-up of mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.
- Loading feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
- Verification of settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards.
- Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Complete preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Documentation of actions by completing production and quality logs
- 4+ years' experience working as CNC Machinist/Programmer
- High school diploma, equivalent and/or post-secondary certification required
- Expertise with CNC calculating, computer aided design (CAD), and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software
- Proficiency in SmartCam, MasterCam or equivalent offline machine programming applications

- Monday-Thursday 12pm-10:30pm OR Friday-Sunday 6am-6:30pm
