The Machinist at our Concord, NC site is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines, machining centers, and manual equipment to fabricate or repair mechanical components and assemblies. This role requires interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The machinist must also be capable of programming CNC equipment to meet precise specifications. Precision measuring tools are used to ensure all finished parts meet customer specifications.Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain CNC and manual machining equipment
- Interpret blueprints, 3D Models, CAD files, and technical drawings
- Apply knowledge of materials including metals, polymers, and wood
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to resolve machining challenges
- Inspect components for accuracy, finish, and quality
- Contribute to design input for complex parts
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Work independently and manage tasks under pressure
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years of machining or maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills
- Proficient in using lathes, milling machines, grinders, and inspection tools
- Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and quality
- Familiarity with safety standards and PPE usage
- Physically capable of standing for long periods and performing machining tasks
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in a related field
- Experience with CNC programming and editing G-code
- Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Knowledge of machine tolerances and fitment
- AutoCAD proficiency
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Ability to create custom tools for machining operations
- Experience with GMARS or similar CMMS systems
- Trained in industrial power tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Customer-focused mindset
- Availability for a standard day shift schedule (Monday–Friday, 8 hours/day), with flexibility to work overtime during peak site periods
- Willingness to respond to off-hour emergencies as needed
- Willingness to travel for training as needed
