OverviewAbout the RoleThe primary purpose of the Program Clinical Coordinator, Ophthalmology position is to direct, coordinate and supervise the daily clinical activities related to patient flow, clinical documentation, hospital registration for hospital-based procedures and minor surgery and technical supportResponsibilitiesWhat You’ll Do
  • Responsible for the development of planning, implementing and assessing the overall daily clinic practice.
  • Supervision and assignment of all clinics technical support staff.
  • Training and development of clinic technical support staff.
  • Clinic practice personnel actions including hiring, firing, promotion, merit assessment and discipline of clinic practice technical support staff.
  • Satisfactory attainment of all patient care standards established by the Chair of Ophthalmology, hospital medical board, executive committee and TJC.
  • Ensures the development of up-to-date information processing within the department for staff, patient and physician scheduling, documentation and billing.
  • In conjunction with the Administrative Director, participates in the preparation, implementation and maintenance of the clinic budget.
  • Organizes and maintains adequate inventory of clerical and clinical supplies, equipment and medications.
  • Ensures Equipment is in working order and arranges for repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Ensures patient comfort and education is maintained.
QualificationsWhat You’ll BringRequired:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Ophthalmic Technology, a related health care field, or its equivalent plus a minimum of three years of related ophthalmology experience, including one year of supervisory experience.
  • Must be certified by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology and hold CPR certification.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.

CompensationThe expected salary range for this position is $79,317.00 - $99,148.00 - $118,976.00 in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.About UsUniversity Hospital is one of the nation’s leading academic medical centers.
