
Senior Manager – Data Controls Design and Enablement

- Support the Director in the execution of the enterprise data control strategy by leading the identification and remediation of data control gaps across critical data domains
- Design and implement effective data controls (preventative and detective), leveraging enterprise risk and control frameworks such as Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA)
- Partner with business units, technology teams, Business Unit data offices, data stewards, and compliance stakeholders to understand data flows, identify risk points, and define control implementation strategies
- Contribute to the maintenance of a centralized data control inventory ensuring alignment with internal policies, regulatory expectations, and risk appetite
- Work closely with the product and tech teams to define requirements for automated control monitoring, dashboards, and reporting solutions
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of control performance metrics including KPIs and KRIs to key stakeholders
- Participate in internal and external audits or regulatory reviews, providing documentation and responses regarding the data control environment
- Support training and awareness initiatives by developing educational content related to data controls and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Data Management, Risk, Business Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, data risk, internal controls, or audit in the financial services or highly regulated industry
- Experience designing and implementing data controls
- 2+ years of experience leading teams or mentoring junior staff
- Experience with enterprise risk and control frameworks such as RCSA or COSO.
- Working knowledge of financial services regulations and data compliance requirements (e.g., BCBS 239, CCAR, GDPR)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Effective verbal and written communication with the ability to present data and control findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with data governance tools and technologies (e.g., Collibra)
- Experience working with data reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, CDMP, or equivalent are a plus
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
