
K9 Handler - Full-Time (Caesars Palace LV)

- 3 years prior experience preferred in law enforcement, military or private security.
- Ability to pass a company approved canine certification course within the first 90 days of employment.
- Maintain annual K9 certifications.
- Must possess interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, be available for incident/emergency response duty, standby duty, and client demonstrations, which may include weekends, holidays, nights and overnights.
- Must be approved by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to handle explosive material.
- A working knowledge in the area of investigations, possess investigative and analytical skills.
- Set an example and be a role model / leader for all Security personnel through observance of all departmental policies and procedures.
- Must be “team centered" and promote a positive work environment. Must work well with other departments and management as necessary.
- Must be tactful, maintain confidences, and foster an ethical work environment, prevent inappropriate behavior by co-workers, handle all situations honestly.
- Able to communicate clearly with staff, management, and the public through oral and written word.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass the physical and written testing of the Las Vegas Region Security Academy (Caesars Officers Defense Education System, Defensive Tactics, Legal Issues, Handcuffing, Tactical Communications, Use of Force, Report Writing, Searching Subjects, Emergency Response, Ethics, OC Gel certification and Expandable Baton) within the first ninety (90) days of employment.
- Must become Red Cross CPR/AED certified and meet standards on the Caesars CPR Simulation evaluation. within the first ninety days of employment.
- Must maintain annual certification in explosive canine detection handling.
- Must be able to obtain and possess a Nevada Gaming License
- Must have a current and valid Nevada Driver's License and clean driving record
- Must be CPR certified
- Must be able to respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations, and be able to make rational decisions when handling guest and employee issues.
- Must be able to physically restrain individuals when condition of arrest exists.
- Must be able to work and stand inside and outside, sometimes in heat in excess of 115 degrees, or cold as low as 10 degrees.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, jump, twist, crouch, grip, carry heavy loads and maneuver quickly on level surfaces, as well as, up and down stairs.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds. Must be able to push or pull up to 150 pounds.
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
