
Crew Lead Installer

- Assembles and installs solar panels on roofs
- Configures PV systems based on site conditions and customers' needs and expectations; connects panels to the power grid
- Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safety
- Complete projects within established policies and procedures
- Ensures that equipment is weather-sealed
- Performs routine maintenance on PV systems
- Assisting the Electrician with connecting PV panels to the electrical system
- Train crew members up to speed on all components utilized during installation (procedures, tools, lines of communication, etc.)
- Check over provided jobs (pack out) before leaving the warehouse each morning to ensure provided material.
- Review plans and count parts from the plan set to verify BOM
- Responsible for final system walkthrough with the customer ensuring quality and aesthetic of install
- Cleanliness of job site and lon installation vehicles
- Responsible for following and actively enforcing all OSHA and ION safety guidelines at their location, including attending weekly safety meetings and safety inspections per ION policy
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Extensive knowledge of PV equipment and installation.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read building plans.
- Ability to read equipment manuals.
- Ability to use hand and power tools to install PV panels.
- Ability to use ION technology, such as smartphones, Paycom, Field Pro, SalesForce, etc.
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Solar Install experience is required
- Vocational or technical school training is preferred
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must have a clean driving record as determined by a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
- Must be able to work at great heights.
- Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds at a time.
- Installation is done outdoors. Installers work on rooftops but also sometimes work in attics and crawl spaces to connect panels to the electrical grid.
- Installers work as part of a team. Installation of solar panels requires the help of Technicians and Electricians.
