
Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Practice Leader

- BS degree in civil engineering (MS degree in geotechnical engineering preferred).
- 10 years of minimum related experience.
- California-registered geotechnical engineer.
- Proficient in advanced geotechnical analysis and software.
- Proficient in California Building Code requirements with respect to geotechnical engineering, construction inspection and materials testing.
- Familiar with Caltrans Standard Specifications and Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (Greenbook).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
- Oversee geotechnical and related investigations from proposal to final report, including site exploration, lab testing, analysis and client communication.
- Manage testing projects, including site visits, reporting, consulting and budget oversight.
- Provide technical supervision and mentorship for engineers, geologists, inspectors and technicians. Interface regularly with clients, contractors, design teams and internal staff to ensure smooth project execution.
- Support and manage our laboratory Quality Management System to maintain key accreditations and qualifications (AASHTO, Caltrans, DSA).
- Participate in business planning, recruiting, training and marketing activities to support our 3-year growth plan.
- Represent the firm in professional organizations and at conferences to stay ahead of industry trends and build relationships.
