- As a sworn armed peace officer, serves as a Gaming Special Agent ensuring the integrity of gaming in the State
any other statues for which the Gaming Board has jurisdiction. * Conducts interviews and investigates complaints.
- Processes casino and video gaming applications for licenses.
- Assists the Attorney General, State’s Attorney and the U.S. Attorney’s Offices in preparation of cases for civil or
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
- Requires two years of college with coursework in criminal justice, law enforcement, pre-law business administration or a related field, plus five consecutive years of full-time service as a police officer with the same law enforcement agency; OR
- Graduated from an approved State Police Academy program and are currently certified as a sworn peace officer.
- Possess sufficient physical fitness to have passed the Peace Office Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) test.
- Pass an approved firearms qualification course and have a valid Firearm owners Identification card (FOID).
- Requires ability to perform shift work including weekends and holidays.
- Requires possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
- Pass Illinois Gaming Board’s background investigation (background check).
- Must comply with the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act: No State employee who works for the Illinois Gaming Board, or spouse or immediate family member living with such person shall, during State employment, hold an ownership interest, other than a passive interest in a publicly traded company, in any gaming license under the Illinois Gambling Act, the Video Gaming Act, the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975, or the Sports Wagering Act.
- Must comply with the Illinois Gambling Act: No person shall be employed to serve the Board who is, or whose spouse, parent or child is, an official of, or has a financial interest in or financial relation with, any operator engaged in gambling operations within this State, or any organization engaged in conducting horse racing within this State.
- Must comply with the Illinois Gambling Act: For the one year immediately preceding employment, an employee shall not have been employed or received compensation or fees for services from a person or entity, or its parent or affiliate, that has engaged in business with the Board, a licensee, or a licensee under the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975.
- Certain provisions of the revolving door restrictions contained in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 apply to this position. As a result, the employee should be aware that if offered non-State employment during state employment or within one year immediately after ending State employment, the employee shall, prior to accepting any such non-State employment offer, notify the Office of the Executive Inspector General for the Agencies of the Illinois Governor (OEIG) or may be subject to a fine.
- Prefers one (1) year experience in conducting investigations.
- Prefers one (1) year experience writing thoroughly documented investigative reports.
- Prefers one (1) year experience reviewing or analyzing records to ensure compliance with regulations, statutes, and laws.
