Job Description:JOB SUMMARYActs as a technical director and assists with, supervises, and coordinates daily operations and activities of the Arts and Culture facilities.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSSix (6) years of experience in stage lighting, production audio, theatrical rigging, or theatrical production management, of which two (2) must have been supervisory; OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Supervises all stage activities and equipment installation, maintenance, and use.
  • Assists with the daily operations of the Arts and Culture facilities and ensures buildings are maintained and operating safely and efficiently, and are evacuated correctly in case of emergencies.
  • Assigns duties, schedules tasks, and ensures completion by facilities operations workers and contracted cleaning crews.
  • Coordinates with the event management team to ensure that all event needs and activities are planned and executed to the client's satisfaction.
  • Ensures the safety and proper evacuation of facilities in the event of an emergency.
  • Assists with the future planning for building and equipment needs.

  • Theatrical lighting and sound systems operation and programming
  • Scenic design, carpentry, props, electric, and construction
  • Music, opera, dance, film, video, radio, and video

  • Event set up and management procedures and techniques
  • Union work rules and pay scales
  • Technical theatre and stage management
  • Needs and procedures of touring productions

  • Organize and plan effectively

  • Use computers to schedule HVAC systems and operate modern lighting consoles and basic office computers

  • Work effectively with the public, promoters, civic, and fine arts staff
  • Project management, including budget and implementation strategy Additional Information:
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to climb ladders and cat walks, perform physical labor in all types of weather conditions, and routinely lift up to 75 pounds.IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THIS POSITIONWork schedule includes evenings, weekends, holidays and split shifts.TEMPORARY POSITIONS:An "At Will", FLSA non-exempt employee who is not eligible for County benefits and who must work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month.
