Energy Management Corporation is looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer specializing in power quality (PQ) solutions to lead a small, high-performing team focused on the assembly, installation, and sales support of PQ equipment. This hybrid role blends technical engineering expertise with leadership and business development, providing the opportunity to grow and shape a specialized division within the company.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership:
  • Lead design, assembly, and testing of power quality equipment, including harmonic filters, reactors, capacitor banks, surge suppression, and UPS systems.
  • Supervise field teams during installation and commissioning at industrial client sites.
  • Ensure compliance with IEEE 519, IEEE 1159, IEC 61000, and NFPA 70E standards.
Team Management:
  • Mentor and manage a small team of engineers and technicians.
  • Allocate resources and oversee project timelines from proposal to installation.
  • Foster a safety-first culture in both shop and field environments.
Business Development:
  • Collaborate with sales and leadership teams to identify growth opportunities in industrial PQ markets, including manufacturing, automotive, semiconductor, and utilities.
  • Support proposal development, cost estimation, and client presentations.
  • Serve as a technical resource for sales, translating customer PQ challenges into engineered solutions.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering (required).
  • 7+ years of experience in power quality engineering, including equipment design, PQ monitoring, and industrial applications.
  • Proficiency with PQ analysis tools such as Fluke 435, Dranetz, PQube, Hioki.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial power systems: VFDs, motors, grounding, surge protection, harmonics.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink,ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower,
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small engineering/technical teams.
  • Business acumen and experience supporting client-facing proposals or sales efforts.
  • PE license or willingness to pursue is preferred.
Preferred Background:
  • Experience with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) or integrators such as Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric, Eaton, Rockwell Automation, MTE, or TCI.
  • Exposure to industrial environments, including automotive, chemical plants, steel mills, and utilities.
  • Proven growing customer relationships while having track record of driving technical project success.
