- Job Title: Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) Locum Tenens
- Employment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
- Location: Oncology Care Unit, Wausau, Wisconsin 54401
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 29, 2025
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
- Patient Ratio: 5:1 typical, may reach 7:1
- Support Staff: Night shift techs and CNAs scheduled all shifts
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2030 - $2180 per week
- Active Wisconsin RN license (required for all nursing jobs in Wisconsin)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Chemo certification (REQUIRED) for oncology nurse roles
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including oncology nursing experience
- 1 year of Medical-Surgical Oncology (MSO) unit experience preferred
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred; prior electronic charting required
- Associate Degree or Nursing Certificate required; BSN preferred
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Wausau, WI
- Deliver direct patient care to surgical and medical oncology patients
- Administer chemotherapy, monitor patient responses, and manage side effects
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to other hospital units and provide care within RN scope as needed
- Utilize Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris infusion pumps
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation and uphold patient safety standards
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as part of the nursing team
