Dogwood Industries is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our procurement team to support factory operations for two facilities. The Procurement Specialist will be based at our Everett, WA location and will occasionally travel to our Sedro-Woolley, WA as required. The successful candidate will have buying experience for maintenance and operations including consumables, supplies, equipment maintenance and general operating needs. Candidate must be comfortable working under tight deadlines and handling multiple and diverse requirements dictated by multiple production streams at two separate facilities. The Procurement Specialist regularly reviews requisitions and specifications and organizes information for RFQs. The Procurement Specialist is responsible to issue detailed, accurate Purchase Orders, arrange logistics as needed and follow the procurement path from inception to delivery. Candidate will demonstrate a high level of organizational skills and attention to detail. An aptitude to seek out, organize and retain technical knowledge related to the supply chain pertinent to our operations is necessary. This position requires fluency in English with excellent written and oral skills to facilitate communication with the operations team and suppliers.Duties & Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate product delivery to support operational requirements
- Collaboration with operations team to plan and execute simple or complex orders
- Negotiation with suppliers to achieve acceptable pricing and terms
- Research and development of supply chain resources
- Reliable support to operations team to ensure "no down time" for production facilities
- Issuance and expediting of purchase orders
- Resolving discrepancies in supply chain performance
- Interfacing and communicating with operations, inventory control and accounting departments
- Use of ERP system and spreadsheet analysis as required to perform the duties of the job
- Other duties as assigned
- Able to organize information from multiple inputs
- Detail-oriented and able to extract and convey critical information from specifications
- Ability to read and understand technical information to ensure accuracy of purchase orders
- Professional approach to working with vendors and suppliers to achieve favorable pricing and deliveries
- Fluent in the use of Office, SharePoint, and Adobe applications; able to adapt to ERP system specific to company.
- Degree or demonstrated experience in related field (manufacturing, steel fabrication, construction)
- Previous successful experience as a buyer in a related procurement field
