
Grants Manager

- Identify, research, develop, and write compelling grant proposals for current and potential public and private funders (government, foundations, faith-based entities, and other)
- Manage follow-up invoicing and reporting as required by grantors
- Facilitate site visits and cultivation activities, as needed
- Collaborate with staff to assess funding opportunities and create strategies for funding growth
- Meet regularly with Development and Program staff to evaluate funding prospects and priorities
- Work with the team to align goals, objectives, and outcome reporting, as required
- Coordinate the preparation of proposals, including task management, narrative writing, data reporting, and budget development with Program, Finance, and leadership teams, as appropriate, to ensure alignment with program and organizational needs
- Ensure high-quality, timely submission of proposals, reports, and other criteria
- Reconcile grant revenue and expenses with the Finance department
- Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer to create the annual revenue strategy
- Acknowledge and recognize grant awards and program reporting promptly
- Maintain a database tracker to track grant deadlines, submissions, awards, and reporting
- Build and nurture relationships with key funding contacts through meetings and agreed-upon engagement strategies
- Support fiscal needs' assessments in alignment with the agency mission and strategic plan
- Attend events to market Covenant House Missouri and develop funding relationships
- Review and interpret RFPs and related funding documents
- Participate in additional Covenant House Missouri programs and activities, as needed
- Foster effective working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and external stakeholders
- Hold a bachelor's degree in the non-profit sector (preferred) and have a minimum of three years' grant writing experience
- Have experience working with a donor database, working in human services agencies, and/or possess experience with homeless populations
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills and strong people skills, including the ability to speak effectively before groups of agency partners or employees of an organization
- Are flexible, amiable, and willing to work as a team player
- Have strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Are a self-starter with excellent organizational skills and can work with minimal supervision
- Have strong computer skills and literacy in Microsoft Office Suite, with a concentration in Excel and Word
- Have a passion for Covenant House Missouri and the ability to convey its mission to funders
