- Identify and target potential clients in the commercial and industrial sectors.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs and industry trends.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline through cold calls, networking, and site visits.
- Communicate with vendors as needed to gather costs for services needed to complete maintenance being quoted
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to personal growth and development of the trade and skills of a Sales Professional, including attendance at product and sales training events, participation at all professional training provided by EMCOR/ CCI Mechanical, etc.
- Prepare reports on the status of accounts/projects (profitability, deadlines, etc.)
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing excellent customer service.
- Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions using the mechanical contracting services.
- Present and promote company services to clients through meetings, presentations, and proposals.
- Prepare and submit accurate quotations, bids, and project proposals.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of service to close deals.
- Provide regular reports on sales activity, forecasts, and key account developments through CRM, XOI, and weekly meetings with management.
- Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote the company’s brand and service.
- Self-starter, ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a field-based role.
- Proven experience in outside sales, preferably in mechanical contracting or a related industry (HVAC, plumbing, controls).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to understand mechanical concepts.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently within the designated territory.
- 2+ years of experience in customer service or sales
- Experience in the HVAC industry is preferred
- Strong customer presentation skills and a demonstrated sales aptitude
- Computer skills using Word and Excel
- Competitive nature and independent decision making are required
