General PurposeAssists in the Culinary Arts program in the delivery of quality food services for internal and external customers. Responsible for operating a short-order food line, banquet preparation, setup, cleanup, maintain a clean, well-functioning and safe kitchen and food service environment. Exemplifies and provides a professional customer service.

  • Works cooperatively with the Cafe Manager to ensure a quality Food Service Program.
  • Exemplifies and provides professional customer service in all aspects of food service.
  • Assists in preparation and cooking of designated menus.
  • Works independently to operate a short-order line during breakfast and lunch hours.
  • Preparing, cooking, and serving food to customers.
  • Maintains serving areas in clean and well-stocked manner.
  • Monitors condition of equipment, cleanliness and order of storage areas, refrigerators, freezers, and other equipment.
  • Maintains kitchen and seating area in clean, sanitary, and orderly condition.
  • Works with student dishwashers to ensure consistent quality clean-up of kitchen.
  • Works with students to ensure food quality and service standards are met.
  • May assist with cashier responsibilities as needed.
  • Works cooperatively within the college Community.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma.
  • One year training in food service.
  • A combination of work experience and training may be used to fill this requirement.
  • Must have a current Davis County food handlers permit.
  • Must have good communications skills.
  • Ability to organize and follow through.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Requires a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current ServSafe certification
