- Overseeing and managing the general accounting function for the Travel and Hospitality subsidiary and ensure that all major projects, month-end, and year-end reporting are accurate and completed on time.
- Ensure accounting processes fully comply with GAAP.
- Maintaining accurate and complete financial records and supporting the year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit. This includes review of balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries in addition to quality review initiatives.
- Coordinating with auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting. Managing statutory, internal and external audit requests throughout the year.
- Evaluating, developing, and improving department controls, systems, and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency. Leading initiatives aimed at automation of repetitive tasks and procedures.
- Managing a team of general ledger staff and senior accountants. This includes promoting professional development of less senior staff members by presenting growth opportunities (department rotations, succession planning, special project involvement) and advocating for direct reports' long-term goals.
- Assisting other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have a financial impact on the business. Spearheading collaboration between RTR and other departments to allow for synergies and proactive identification of issues.
- Build relationships with business partners that ensure open communication, integrity, and trust.
- Performing ad hoc analysis and projects as requested. Offering up assistance on projects throughout the year and seeking out opportunities to expand toolbelt while helping the department.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Professional certification such as CPA or MBA is strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role or equivalent.
- Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statements. Experience with audit (external or internal) is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization.
- Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment, managing multiple shifting priorities.
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
- Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills as well as experience with other financial systems (Blackline, Workday, OneStream).
- Experience with business analytics platforms (Alteryx, Power Automate, Tableau) is preferred.
