ISG-SD manufactures medium-voltage solid dielectric underground (Submersible, Vault, and Padmount) switchgear. As a Sales Application Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth with the field sales team to close orders through your known or developing expertise and technical knowledge of the underground switchgear America's markets including utility, commercial, military, and industrial. In this role you will be required to display and communicate technical knowledge of the equipment and negotiate pricing for a variety of projects. This role includes developing strategies to target customers in specific regions or industries with the objective of optimizing sales volume, product mix, and profit margin. In this function you will: Interpret technical specifications and provide timely, accurate quotations and technical guidance to support the sales team Collect, analyze, and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences, and buying habits. Engage in customer calls and email conversations to understand requirements and offer tailored solutions to address challenges and provide the best solution. Resolve customer issues by utilizing available resources or developing new procedures for resolution. Maintain a pulse on market conditions and competitor activity, share actionable intelligence with product teams to influence development and product positioning Conduct sales force training on medium voltage switchgear and associated controls Prepare compelling bids and quotations aligned with company pricing and delivery standards using sound business judgment to close deals. Partner with regionally based sales teams to execute a territory sales plan to expand market share and drive adoption of existing and new products. Plan sales activities with distributors, major account managers, and for key accounts, in an assigned territory or on assigned accounts focused on high-potential projects and opportunities. Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution. Three (3) years of work experience in engineering, sales/marketing, or manufacturing engineering. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Experience selling or supporting medium voltage underground distribution switchgear or associated products into the Utility Market Two (2) years of experience in Utility/Commercial or Industrial sales engineering.
