Position SummaryThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of skilled tasks related to the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and ongoing maintenance of production and facility equipment. This role ensures safe and efficient operations by following established safety protocols, preventive maintenance programs, and productivity procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform mechanical duties including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of production machinery and equipment.Diagnose issues, replace or repair components, test systems, and make necessary adjustments in accordance with manufacturer specifications.Conduct general facility maintenance tasks such as plumbing, carpentry, and other building-related functions.Maintain and install compressed air systems, including piping and material feed headers.Operate and maintain high-pressure steam boiler systems.Execute seasonal grounds and facility upkeep including lawn mowing, edging, planting, snow removal, and site safety inspections.Address work order requests using Essential Industries' Priority Method while adhering to established maintenance procedures.Respond to emergency maintenance requests and perform unscheduled repairs during production operations.Assist with equipment installations, non-standard changes, and repairs in compliance with local codes, OSHA, NEC, and other applicable engineering standards and company specifications.Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to schedule and document all activity through the company's Preventive Maintenance (PSM) system.Collaborate on troubleshooting recurring issues and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.Maintain accurate documentation on asset repairs, plant improvements, and any safety-related incidents or near-misses.Communicate effectively with affected personnel regarding the status of maintenance work, changes, or equipment issues.Train and audit plant operators on equipment use and safety procedures, ensuring alignment with maintenance protocols.Operate a wide range of shop equipment and tools (e.g., saws, drill presses, hand and power tools); ensure tools are clean, safe, and maintained.Complete assigned projects and tasks delegated by the Lead Maintenance Technician efficiently and on schedule.Required CompetenciesAbility to follow oral and written instructions accurately.Strong technical aptitude across multiple systems and tools.High attention to detail in all tasks.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Analytical and problem-solving abilities.Strong organizational and planning skills.Sound judgment and decision-making.Team-oriented with a proactive, self-motivated work ethic.Hours: 1st shift M-F 6:30am - 3pm
