
Transportation Planning Intern - Summer 2026

- Assist with the preparation, or prepare screening assessments with supervision.
- Create graphics, maps, spreadsheets, databases, or tables to assist with technical report preparation.
- Participate in project site assessment activities, pre and post field work activities, and data processing.
- Assist with public engagement activities, including but not limited to social media research, development of meeting materials, summarizing community feedback, and assisting the project team with public outreach activities as needed.
- Provide to the project team as needed.
- EXPERIENCE: Applicant should be able to use Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ArcPro GIS, etc., to create reports, be able to organize files, and be able to use standard business writing to contribute to technical report production.
- EDUCATION: Applicant should have completed scientific, engineering, or other coursework toward an Environmental Sciences, Biology, Ecology, City and Regional Planning, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or other related field that requires research, data analysis, technical report production and presentation of findings for peer consideration.
- SPECIAL SKILLS: Applicant should have experience reading a map and/or construction plans, be able to understand complex concepts, assemble and organize data, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and work effectively with a variety of people. Experience analyzing census data and/or identifying ecological resources is desired but not required. Applicant should be able to work in outdoor projects sites and drive.
