Collaborates with team members to plan, estimate, and write clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
Develops, tests, deploys, and maintains software and documents issues encountered.
Identifies product design features to support scalability, usability, and improved performance.
Delivers technical reports, technical memoranda, and other documents for internal and external distribution.
Coaches more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.
Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team.Primary Responsibilities:Design and implement embedded software for a class II medical deviceConstruction and maintenance of software requirementsDesign and implementation of software interfacesTest case development, unit and integration testingLeading and participating in design reviews, code reviews and system integration activitiesManages large projects or processes with limited oversight from managerCoach, review and delegate work to lower-level professionalsCollaborate on a multidisciplinary team including internal and external resourcesRequired Qualifications:BS degree in software, computer science, electrical engineering or closely related field.5+ years of experience in software development.Proven execution of formal engineering development processes and compliance to industry standards is required; medical industry experience preferred.Experience should include:Embedded software developmentDevelopment in C, C++Data acquisition in an embedded environmentQuality systems in a regulated industryVersion control and issue tracking systemsMedical device development, including ISO 62304 preferredLinux use and development experience preferredBasic electrical troubleshooting skills preferredMotor control experience preferredDevelopment in html, css, and javascript preferredPossesses a "team player" attitude, takes pride in their work and has excellent communication skillsOperates independently as a self-starter with high attention to detailJohnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
