The Engineer, Computer provides technical expertise in software engineering, systems design, network architecture, and cybersecurity for the development, maintenance, and support of the TMIP and OpMed application suites in compliance with DoD and NIWC Atlantic standards. This position supports mission-essential systems operating within secure government cloud environments and requires familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps methodologies.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and sustain software applications using Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
- Contribute to and follow the Software Development Plan (SDP) in accordance with ISO/IEC/IEEE 12207:2017.
- Support software lifecycle activities, including concept exploration, requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
- Design, implement, and manage cloud-native architectures using AWS Impact Level 4–6 environments.
- Integrate and validate COTS/GOTS products including Oracle Streams, J2EE applications, and SOA tools.
- Interface with DC2HS, NAVAIR Cloud Hosting Service Center, and NCDOC for software deployment and cybersecurity compliance.
- Assist with RMF and DIACAP documentation to achieve and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO).
- Provide technical input for testing, validation, and verification efforts including SOVTs, SIVTs, and FIVTs.
- Analyze software trouble reports and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Configuration Management to maintain accurate records of software versions and changes.
- Participate in program reviews, Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), and SPA events.
- Hold an active DoD Secret security clearance. Higher clearance levels may be required for access to classified environments.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- Experience: 0 years required.
- Certification: Working toward relevant certification within 1.5 years (e.g., PSEM, CSDP, or vendor/platform specific).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- Experience: 3 years of professional experience in software or systems engineering.
- Specific Experience: 1 year supporting Engineering, IA, or C4ISR systems.
- Certification: Working toward relevant certification within 1.5 years (e.g., PSEM, CSDP, or vendor/platform specific).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (11 years experience) or Master’s degree (7 years experience) in related field.
- Experience: 7–11 years in software engineering, systems development, or networks.
- Specific Experience: 3 years in C4ISR support; 1 year in IA or virtualization projects.
- Certification: PSEM, CSDP, or approved platform/vendor certification.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (14 years experience) or Master’s degree (10 years experience) in related field.
- Experience: 10–14 years in software or network engineering.
- Specific Experience: 5 years in C4ISR support; 3 years in IA or virtualization.
- Certification: PSEM, CSDP, or approved platform/vendor certification.
- Programming: Java, .NET, Oracle, J2EE
- Tools: Jira, Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS GovCloud
- Security: DISA STIGs, ACAS, eMASS, RMF
- Standards: ISO/IEC/IEEE 12207:2017, CMMI Level 3, DAU SE Life Cycle
Primarily onsite at government or contractor facilities; some travel to CONUS/OCONUS locations may be required for system integration and deployment support.Compensation: $117,000 - $175,500. The salary range posted is based on the national average.
