Copper River Cyber Solutions is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our team in support of a new contract at the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Responsiveness. This position will be performed remotely with the occasional need for an onsite meeting in the Washington D.C. area.The Cloud Engineer is responsible for the administration aspects of our client's hybrid cloud system, including creating, managing, fine tuning, and maintaining. Working with Project Team Leads and Project Managers to produce high quality products.Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Manage client's hybrid cloud environments
  • Collaborating with all internal and external partners, such as Government Engineers, Contractor Engineers, Contractor Operations staff, Management, and 3rd party vendors
  • Network architecture such as IP Addressing, subnetting, routing, switching, and firewalls
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership on the hybrid cloud environments, including Office365, Azure, Azure Stack, AWS, VMWare, Kubernetes, Cloud Management Platforms, and Cloud Access Security Brokers
  • Leading Systems Engineers on technical solutions and architecture, particularly regarding hybrid cloud design and developing the target hybrid cloud architecture
  • Producing documentation for the hybrid cloud architecture, including network port connectivity, and design choices of the associated applications (Low Level Design, High Level Design)
  • Integrate hybrid cloud systems into the enterprise Configuration Management Database
  • Automating facets of the hybrid cloud environment, including deployment, SSL certificate monitoring/requests, patching and upgrades in coordination with DevOps Engineers
  • Design, Deploy and maintain enterprise class security, network and systems management applications within an Azure and AWS environment.
  • Design, both technically compliant and secure Cloud solutions, as well as value-based, on-demand services to facilitate the effective transition and migration of projects and programs into unique and adaptive cloud environment
  • Design, implement and maintain all Azure and AWS infrastructure and services within a managed service environment
  • Evaluation/design/development/deployment of additional technologies and automation for managed services on Azure and AWS
  • Implement process and quality improvements through task automation
  • Performing risk analysis of each Engineering Service Request and inform management of the applicable risks
Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
  • Education:
  • Bachelors degree or prior, relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience
  • AWS experience and knowledge
  • Microsoft Azure experience and knowledge
  • Hybrid cloud experience and knowledge
  • Experience producing quality documentation
  • Experience working with Federal government clients
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Cloud knowledge and experience
  • Networking knowledge and experience a plus
  • VMWare knowledge and experience a plus
  • Microsoft 365 knowledge and experience a plus
  • Platform and data migration knowledge and experience a plus
  • Cyber Security knowledge and experience a plus
