- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with data collection sites (schools, museums, public parks).
- Create recruitment materials (PowerPoints, flyers, newsletters) and distribute them to data collection sites.
- Design and deliver presentations to site staff, parents, and children.
- Ensure that data is collected from diverse, community samples.
- Plan, schedule, and facilitate data collection activities.
- Organize data collection schedules for all studies, schedule data collection site visits for postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduate research assistants.
- Keep records of children tested for each study.
- Organize outreach to disseminate findings of research.
- Coordinate presentations by lab members at various sites to site staff, parents, and/or children.
- Responsible for preparing and analyzing documents including IRB proposals, research reports, manuscripts, presentations, and grant reports.
- Write procedures for each study and submit them to the IRB.
- Communicate with IRB reviewers, edit study protocols.
- Participates in administrative policy and program planning and development.
- Serves as liaison between project and UCB Special Projects Office, Contracts and Grants, and Human Subjects Review Board.
- Manages grant budgets and spending.
- Enforces IRB policies, ensures that all lab activity abides by ethics guidelines.
- Recruit, mentor, and train undergraduate research assistants.
- Manage the hiring of research assistants through programs such as URAP and Psych 199.
- Train research assistants in lab general policies, ethical guidelines, and data collection methods.
- Provide professional development opportunities to undergraduate research assistants.
- Organizes research trips to field sites.
- Book transportation (airfare, etc.), manage budgets for research trips, process reimbursements for travel.
- Provides a variety of analytical duties in support of a function, program and/or organizational unit.
- Improve lab policies to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Ensures the storage and transfer of data complies with human subjects' regulations.
- Manage databases for consent documents, assent documents, and sensitive participant information.
- Project management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
- Solid ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
- Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
- Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
- Working skills to analyze information and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and DropBox.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Public Health, Development, Social Work, Public Policy or related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
