- Lead the Radiation Safety Program at our Indianapolis, IN and Newark, DE facilities.
- Interpret and communicate expectations based on laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Administer safety programs, conduct employee training and complete risk management assessments in the areas of safety, occupational health, and environmental management.
- Support location in record-keeping of Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) programs.
- Develop and implement function and group specific safety policies/programs.
- Review facility operations and consult with site safety committees, EH&S networks and employees to identify unsafe working conditions and develop appropriate controls or alternatives.
- Continue to drive the safety culture at Corteva through demonstration and frequent/consistent communication on the importance of safety.
- Able to lead or participate on Emergency Response Teams, specifically HAZWOPER and Confined Space.
- Willingness to adapt to ever-changing environments, on both the Research and Development (R&D) and EH&S sides. Responsibilities of this role can shift to best support R&D.
- You have a Bachelor's degree or higher or 5+ years of relevant EH&S experience.
- You have 3+ years of experience working around radioisotopes or in Research and Development (equivalent relevant experience and education will be considered).
- You have excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- With your coaching & leadership skills, you are able to build trust and rapport with employees to achieve a strong safety culture.
- You have high-level computer abilities.
- You have a high attention to detail so you can maintain awareness of existing and proposed safety codes/regulations and company guidelines plus maintain as well as analyze appropriate data.
- You are a proactive problem-solver, able to make decisions in time sensitive conditions.
- You have OSHA 10-hr or 30-hr training certification.
- You are trained on Workplace Safety: Knowledge of First Aid, CPR, and AED skills and certification; thorough knowledge of safety regulations.
- You are trained on Occupational Health: Thorough knowledge of industrial hygiene and occupational health hazards and regulations.
- Training or experience in the realm of BioSafety.
- Completed training and certification as required by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
- You are aware of Environmental Regulations: Awareness of applicable environmental policies, standards, guidelines, regulations, and local requirements. (spill containment, facility waste stream & disposal requirements, etc.).
