- Understand, practice, and promote the vision and core values of Mat-Su Services for Children & Adults.
- Supervise and support a team of DSPs, ensuring adequate staffing and adherence to care plans.
- Provide training, mentoring, and performance evaluations for DSPs.
- Schedule staff shifts, manage call-outs, and support staff development and morale.
- Ensure that services align with each individual's care plan, personal goals, and support needs.
- Monitor and ensure implementation of behavior support and health care plans.
- Oversee daily operations of the group home, including routines, household tasks, and recreational activities.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and timely.
- Manage, audit, and maintain documentation required for licensing in the Group Homes.
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies.
- Participate in audits, inspection, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitor the physical and emotional well-being of consumers and take appropriate action when concerns arise.
- Ensure medication assistance is completed per protocol and licensing requirements.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for consumers and staff.
- Serve as liaison between DSPs, management, families, and external partners.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, care plan reviews, and agency trainings.
- Support a positive and inclusive team culture grounded in respect and person-centered care.
- Fill in shift gaps in the field when necessary.
- Participates in the Leadership and Management Teams collaboration and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with required annual trainings and certifications.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associates or bachelor's degree in developmental disabilities, special education, psychology, human services or a related field is preferred.
- 2+ years of paid work experience in providing direct service for persons with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
- Supervisory experience in a group home or residential services setting is preferred.
- Previous working with a non-profit preferred.
- Proficient with standard computer operating systems. Ability to navigate Microsoft Office Suite, online databases, and other programs and websites as required.
- Knowledge of information systems used in case management applications.
- Willingness and ability to attain a CPR/First Aid Certification.
- Can maintain confidentiality while understanding and complying with requirements of mandated reporting, duty to warn, HIPAA, and other limits to confidentiality.
- Have the willingness and ability to work outside of normal business hours as well as Holidays and weekends as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all MSSCA required ongoing trainings, certifications, and background checks.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds to physically manage individuals who must be lifted or repositioned.
- Possess a current and valid driver's license.
- Driving record to be assessed by HR.
- Ability to interpret and adhere to employment laws.
- Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Environment: Majority of work will be performed in an office environment with florescent lighting and minimal opportunities for exposure to natural lighting throughout the workday. Moderate exposure to food/cooking odors. Dense staff population often requires sharing workspaces with minimal personal space and noticeable exposure to conversations and other distractions. Some driving with various road conditions may be required with exposure to a variety of temperatures and walking surfaces. Support will also be required in the field which noise, lighting and odor levels will vary depending on the community location. Driving with various road conditions may be required.
- Hazards: Exposure to repetitive motion during data-entry requires a high level of compliance with best practices of ergonomics, body mechanics and suggested breaks. May have exposure to blood and body fluids during the occasional performance of 1st Aid or CPR. This position may require de-escalating verbally or physically aggressive individuals. Unpredictable employee interactions are also possible.
