The role of a Business Analyst is to partner with Finance and various local and global groups on the delivery of artificial intelligence (AI), insight generation, planning and reporting solutions to Finance. He/she is curious, open-minded and has a strong desire to obtain knowledge and understanding of the business. Through close business partnership and advisory, he/she delivers high quality technical solutions, enhancements, and process improvements. They apply their strong understanding of Finance processes to develop business requirements for solutions that they also execute on. His/her work style heavily involves collaboration and communication with other key players and stakeholders in Technology and Finance across the client company.Key responsibilities of this role include the following:
  • Cultivate and foster trusting relationships with business partners in Finance through frequent face to face interactions
  • Be able to identify opportunities for simplification and automation of Finance processes
  • Work with Finance partners to translate business requirements into functional requirements and specifications
  • Influencing business partners to distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Analyze and document business processes, workflows and use cases for solution design
  • Partner with Global IT Solution Center team to ensure requirements for new solutions and enhancements are managed and delivered effectively
  • For proposed solutions, gather and evaluate information from multiple data sources
  • Create and maintain solution design and ensure that the final solution meets the customer's needs
  • Ensure Global IT Solution Center team delivers and maintains operational procedure and solution documentation
  • Utilize project management skills to develop testing, validation and implementation plans and processes to ensure the solution is fit for purpose
  • Thoroughly train end-users
  • Work with Global IT Solution Center team to efficiently troubleshoot issues
  • Proactively coordinate retrospective sessions to review and capture lessons learned

Qualifications of candidates:
  • 4+ years of experience in business analysis in Finance area
  • BS/BA Degree in finance, information management, or other related field of study is required
  • Experience overseeing the building of analytical solutions is required
  • Experience in SAP Finance, SAP BW reporting, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP S3 and SAP S4 is required
Desired Candidates:
  • Previous Biotech/pharma experience
  • Posses project management skills
