
Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) – Preschool Program (School Setting)

- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) tailored to individual student needs.
- Analyze psychological, educational, and adaptive behavior assessments to inform behavioral programming.
- Design and oversee implementation of behavior support strategies and skill acquisition programs based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Collaborate with teachers and classroom staff to model and support evidence-based behavior management techniques.
- Attend and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, case conferences, and other team meetings to review progress and make necessary plan modifications.
- Provide in-situ coaching, modeling, and training for instructional staff to ensure fidelity of behavior support plans.
- Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and modify programming as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding behavioral progress and strategies for home consistency.
- Provide staff development and training on behavior management, data collection, and implementation of ABA strategies.
- Support classroom needs, including transitions, feeding, toileting, and crisis management, as necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with program policies, DOE regulations, and best practices.
- Stay current with best practices and emerging research in behavior analysis and early childhood development.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Director.
- Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and implementing behavior support plans, preferably with preschool-aged children with developmental disabilities and/or autism.
- In-depth knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and methodologies.
- Experience working in interdisciplinary team settings and school-based environments.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to coach, train, and support educators and paraprofessionals.
- Commitment to inclusive practices and cultural competence.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to respond to inquiries and concerns from staff and families.
- Capable of preparing clear reports and documentation.
- Basic math and statistical knowledge for data analysis, including ability to calculate percentages, ratios, and interpret basic graphs and trend lines.
- Assess situations, identify problems, develop solutions, and make sound decisions.
- Interpret complex data and apply it to individualized programming.
- Remain calm and effective under pressure and during behavioral crises.
- Frequent walking, standing, and interaction with young children.
- Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and assist children when necessary and respond quickly in crisis situations.
- Visual acuity required for data analysis, observation, and monitoring.
- Primary work takes place in a preschool setting with exposure to young children with varying needs.
- Occasional exposure to noise and movement typical of a classroom.
- Travel between program sites may be required.
