Job Overview and Requirements:Child & Family Focus, Inc. is seeking Independent Contractors to work as part-time Prevention Program Facilitators and Parent Ambassadors for the Drug & Alcohol Prevention Program in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Child and Family Focus has comprehensive prevention programming will focus on the prevention needs of children, youth, young adults and their family members. Programming is specifically focused on family education programming including LifeSkills Training for Elementary, Middle, and High School, Too Good For Drugs, Girls Circle, The Council For Boys And Young Men, Unity Circle, The Blues Program, Teen Intervene, Strong African American Families and LifeSkills Training for Parents And Caregivers, and other programming as assigned. Prevention programming is evidence-based and targets protective factors including healthy communication, effective coping skills, and positive interpersonal relationships. A Potential Participant Referral Project is another project to those who reside in and around or have close ties to the communities we have scheduled programming. This project assists the Prevention Education Program with recruitment and outreach efforts.The Independent Contractor Prevention Specialist will:
  • Choose to deliver from available evidence-based prevention programs including but not limited to LifeSkills Training for Elementary, Middle, and High School, Too Good For Drugs, Girls Circle, The Council For Boys And Young Men, Unity Circle, The Blues Program, Teen Intervene, Strong African American Families and LifeSkills Training for Parents And Caregivers to participants in school, community, and office-based settings. This includes some remote services via online platforms (e.g., Zoom)
  • Choose to participate in health and resource fairs, coalition meetings, and other events in the community with the goal of disseminating information about prevention programs and other prevention related information.
  • Partake in required training(s) as assigned by the Prevention and Education Program Supervisor in Bucks/Montgomery Counties and in accordance with requirements set by the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs.
  • Maintain communication and collaboration with Prevention Program team members and leadership.
  • Use and implement the 5 core values of Trauma-Informed Care in all work practices - Safety, Trustworthiness, Choice, Collaboration, & Empowerment.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Efficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Efficiency in Zoom and other virtual platforms
  • Located in or around Delaware County, Pennsylvania
  • Ability to obtain Department of Human Services FBI, Pennsylvania Child Abuse, Criminal Record Check clearances
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Psychology, Human Development, or Family Studies field
  • Valid driver’s license and car
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Work Schedule:
  • Services will be provided both remotely and in-person (in Pennsylvania). Location and platform will be program-specific.
  • Varied, flexible work schedule based on your availability. Evening and weekend availability is preferred with some flexibility for day time hours throughout the week.
  • If program in held in-person, local travel in your own vehicle to offsite locations may be required by caseload or training requirements.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Hourly rate of $22 if untrained & $25 if/when trained
  • Varied, flexible work schedule based on your availability
  • Up to 5-10 hours a week as scheduled per project
