Endress+Hauser is looking for a Process Automation Engineer with a passion for solving customer problems by designing innovative and robust solutions for the industrial process and manufacturing industries. We are looking for a candidate who can apply their passion for automation and controls combined with Endress+Hauser measurement instrumentation products to optimize customer processes, provide safety, reliability, and increased production. In this role, you will collaborate with a team of multidisciplinary engineers and project managers to explore new and creative solutions that will meet business objectives, profitability, schedule, and customer expectations. You will be responsible for process automation control system strategies, design, specification, programming, testing, and on-site commissioning. You will be given the autonomy to create new repeatable solutions offerings and work on unique applications for our customers. You will be empowered to continuously learn and grow your technical and professional skills with the support from the team, management, and organization.Role + Responsibilities
  • Serve as the technical lead on various projects including understanding project scope, identifying customer requirements, adhering to industry standards, and effectively communicating with project managers of the project status and required tasks
  • Interpret P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) to design and specify process instrumentation and control equipment.
  • Assist the sales team in reviewing customer SOWs, RFPs, RFQs, and project specifications as requested.
  • Create electrical schematics, control panel designs, network diagrams, and electrical equipment BOMs (Bill of Materials).
  • Design and program PLC and HMI control systems.
  • Maintain sufficient technical knowledge of all Endress+Hauser product lines to support customers and sales reps in service, application, and troubleshooting.
  • Generate test plans, operator manuals, issues list, and other documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate and provide oversight to field contractor work to ensure installation requirements.
  • Provide onsite start-up and commissioning services, site acceptance testing, and train customer staff on operating and maintenance of the system.
Qualification + Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Process Automation or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in automation or controls system design
  • Robust design, engineering, and troubleshooting skills/experience
  • Customer focused decision making and problem solving
  • Knowledgeable in Rockwell Studio 5000 PLC/HMI programming or other similar platforms
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical software or similar design software
  • Travel required: approximately 25% (up to 50% during peak times)
