Respiratory Therapist Job Details
  • Job Title: Respiratory Therapist – Hospital Night Shift
  • Position Type: Travel/Contract

  • Location: Fort Thomas, Kentucky 41075 (Northern Kentucky/Cincinnati area)
  • Shift: Night shift (3x12 hour shifts per week)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: September 22, 2025
  • Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,460 - $1,570
Respiratory Therapist Qualifications
  • Active Respiratory Therapist certification (RRT or CRT preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital or acute care setting
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Strong communication, patient education, and clinical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver intensive respiratory care and patient transport as prescribed by physicians
  • Evaluate patients, recommend and implement individualized respiratory treatment plans
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments, equipment, and discharge instructions
  • Administer physician-ordered respiratory therapies using ventilators, oxygen devices, nebulizers, and aerosol equipment
  • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, capnography monitoring, and interpret chest x-rays
  • Conduct 12-Lead EKGs, recognize basic arrhythmias, and perform pulmonary function studies
  • Assist with bronchoscopy, tracheostomy care, chest tube placement, and arterial puncture procedures
  • Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines
  • Set up, operate, and maintain mechanical ventilation equipment
  • Accurately document all treatments and patient responses in electronic medical records
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare team members regarding patient care
  • Participate in shift handoff communication and ensure accurate therapy charging
  • Perform additional respiratory therapy duties as assigned
