Job Summary: Chief Engineer – Prestress Concrete ManufacturingA well-established prestress concrete manufacturing plant is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead and oversee all phases of engineering and drafting operations. This leadership role is responsible for managing internal and external engineering resources, ensuring project compliance, and supporting production through technical expertise and strategic planning.Key Responsibilities:Lead and oversee all engineering projects to ensure compliance with company standards, state/federal regulations, and client specificationsDefine departmental goals and allocate necessary resources (internal or external) to meet themPlan and execute engineering initiatives from concept through completionRecruit, mentor, and manage engineering and drafting staffPerform quality control checks to ensure the safety, reliability, and effectiveness of all productsMonitor and evaluate project costs and timelinesSupervise the installation of engineering-related equipment and softwareCoordinate with production teams to resolve design-related issues and ensure manufacturing alignmentOversee the development and implementation of engineering processes, standards, and drafting toolsMaintain company certificates of authorization and serve as managing agent per state licensure requirementsCoordinate project billing with accounting and monitor monthly department operating financesFacilitate collaboration among team members and resolve any internal disputesMeet with clients and visit job sites as neededQualifications:Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Missouri or ability to obtain via reciprocityMinimum 5 years of experience in precast concrete engineeringStrong understanding of precast manufacturing processesExperience managing engineering and drafting teamsSkills & Competencies:Excellent leadership and organizational skillsStrong communication (verbal and written)Proficient in Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Revit, and precast design softwareAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environmentAdaptability under pressure and changing conditionsWork Environment & Physical Requirements:Office-based with occasional client meetings and jobsite visitsAbility to travel to company-sponsored events or seminarsCapable of working extended hours when necessaryMust be able to handle work-related stress professionallyBenefits:Health, Dental, and Vision InsurancePaid Vacation and Holidays401(k) Retirement PlanProfessional development opportunities
