Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit

The Kinesiology Department (http://www.uncg.edu/kin/) has 31 full-time faculty in the sub-disciplines of Athletic Training, Biomechanics, Community Youth Sport Development, Exercise Physiology, Motor Behavior, Pedagogical Kinesiology, and Sport & Exercise Psychology. Faculty have a history of excellent teaching, scholarship, and professional service, and the doctoral program is highly ranked among doctoral programs in kinesiology. Excellent laboratories, equipment, and core facilities are available for investigations using animals or humans (https://kin.uncg.edu/research/labs/). The position is supported by a competitive start-up package, which includes attractive laboratory space and funds for its support. Kinesiology is the 3rd largest department at UNCG serving approximately 800 undergraduates and 180 graduate students and is ranked 3rd in extramural funding among all departments. The department offers B.S., M.S., M.S.A.T., Ph.D., and Ed.D. degrees. Position Summary

Primary responsibilities are quality teaching and mentoring in the Exercise Physiology area and establishing/maintaining an active, cutting edge research agenda leading to publications in refereed journals and external funding. Engagement in departmental, university, and professional activities is expected.
Minimum Qualifications

Earned doctorate in exercise physiology or a related field. Applicants should also have a demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications reflecting evidence of an existing line of research and potential for external funding. For hire at the Associate Professor level, an on-going record of high impact publications and external funding is preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate potential to collaborate in research with faculty in the Department of Kinesiology and other departments.
