- Set Up and Operation: Set up and operate CNC machines (CNC 3-axis Mills) to produce parts according to specifications.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machine settings, tooling, and other job requirements.
- CAD Capabilities: Must be able to use Cimatron software, or has sufficient experience using Solidworks. Capable of programming 2D/3D is preferred.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of finished parts, using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure they meet required tolerances.
- Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines to ensure optimal performance. Report any issues or defects to supervisors.
- Programming and Adjustments: Input machine programs or make adjustments to existing programs to improve efficiency or accommodate changes in design specifications.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure proper use of protective equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machine or part issues quickly to minimize downtime.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other team members to ensure smooth production workflows.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in CNC machining preferred.
- Proven experience as a CNC Operator or similar role in manufacturing.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Knowledge of CNC machine operations, programming, and maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to use measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Basic computer skills and experience with CNC software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machines and processes.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable standing for long periods and working with machinery in a production environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Work is typically performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery noise.
- Facility is air-conditioned.
- Shift work may be required based on production schedules.
- Some weekend OT is provided given current workload.
- Experience with a variety of CNC machines and controls.
- Knowledge of advanced CNC programming
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
