MP&P Technical Analyst 3The MP&P Technical Analyst assists with the development or improvement of inspection or test techniques. Assists in the design and creation of test coupons to validate equipment or determine product acceptance. Follows documented procedures to set up and calibrate specialized test or measurement equipment. Assists in the documentation of procedures for setting up and calibrating test equipment. Follows documented procedures to perform tests or inspections and collects data for evaluation of process equipment, software, solutions, products or materials. Analyzes routine test, inspection or statistical data to determine product and processes conformity or assists with standard corrective action recommendations. Elevates anomalous results as required. Documents and communicates standard test, analysis or measurement results to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. Works under general supervision.Day to Day:
Taking overall photos of parts. Cut, polish and mount specimens for metallographic examination. Take photo-micrographs. Run hardness, micro-hardness and conductivity checks. Support fracture analysis investigations and other engineering requests. This work is focused on aerospace alloys.Shifts: 1st shift, on call and part time. Maximum 30 hours a week. Regular hours should be expected, manager is flexible on this schedule.
The MP&P Technical Analyst role is 100% onsite in Seattle.Job Requirements:2-4 yr. technical degree Material Science or Metallurgy preferred or equivalent Training Program.Must Haves:
1. Metallography experience
2. Photography imaging analysis experience
3. Microsoft Office SuiteLook up and Interpret Specifications/Drawings.
Basic Computer Skills, Strong Math Skills, Chemical background, reading comprehension and Report writing.
Macroscopic/Microscopic examination of fasteners and parts to specified criteria and determination of conformity.
Able to prepare and work with chemicals including etchants and cutting fluids.
Lift, twist, stand, twist and sit for extended periods. Able to carry 25? lbs.
Operation of industrial equipment-band saws, cutting saws, grinding, polishing, etc.
Operation of Precision instruments-microscopes, optical comparators, spectrometers, mechanical test frames
Cut, mount and polish, chemically etch and interpret metallurgical mounted samples.
May require working at heights and enclosed spaces.
