Job Title: Local Contract - Registered Nurse - GI/EndoscopyNumber of positions: 1Years of experience: One to three yearsShift: Night shifts- 40 hoursDuration: 13 weeksStart Date: 03/31/2024Hourly pay: $46.45OT: 1.5Weekly Pay: $1,672.20JOB DESCRIPTION​​​​​SummaryDepartment: Endoscopy GIShift Timings: 08:00 - 16:30 Hours (8 hours shift/5 days). Monday to FridayPer week: 36 hours
  • 9hr x 4 during the weekday. Call requirement is 6 calls/ 6 week schedule. 1 weekend (16:30 Fri - 07:30 Mon) per 6 weeks which is included in the 6 call count. ERCP, EUS experience required.
  • We have 2 procedure rooms on the unit. We do EGDs, Colons and are starting Bravo studies. ERCPs and off shift cases are done in the OR. We do a mix of outpatient and inpatient and beside cases.
  • Cases done in the GI suite are with anesthesia for sedation. We average 15 cases per day.
  • We currently use paper charting but are in progress of converting to Meditech.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's care needs with members of the healthcare team.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • ​​​​BLS and ACLS
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • ​Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current RN GI/Endoscopy experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited RN program, BSN preferred
  • Active unencumbered Maryland RN license
  • One year of Cerner experience
