- Provide Leadership and direction to NOC ATC operations aligning strategic planning with daily tactical operational execution
- Ensure internal audit functions appropriate to determine the level of compliance and safety in the flying operation using data/information gained to correct deficiencies and support continuous improvement
- Identify and develop action plans to address cross departmental operational challenges
- Provide focus on and technical subject matter inputs to operational efficiency initiatives
- Develop and maintain measurements to be used for operations performance management of daily operations
- Manage and coordinate multi-departmental presentations to Leadership and affected workgroups
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation and leadership technique
- Knowledge of the contents of the Southwest Airlines Manual System
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations
- Skilled in communicating technical data to varied audiences and gaining buy in
- Skilled in collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating data including turning raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software
- Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Ability to think strategically and understand the relationship between current actions and future consequences
- Ability to facilitate large meetings and presentations to all levels of Employees and outside organizations
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrated experience in directly or indirectly leading Team(s)
- Fully functioning, broad knowledge in:
- Airline operations
- Strategic planning
- Regulatory compliance
- FAA Airmen Certificate or military equivalent
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space workstation/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be able to work extended hours and travel based on operational needs
- Must meet all regulatory criteria to obtain and maintain Flight Deck Jump Seat access; this position requires successful and continuous enrollment in Rap Back.
- Pay starts at $196,317 annually, depending on internal candidate’s current step rate in the CBA, with no guarantee of employment for any specified time period. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded based at the discretion of the Company. Additional premiums and allowances are also awarded for these roles.
