Caterpillar in East Peoria, IL is looking to train new employees that desire to become our next employees in Heat Treat. The Metal Treating Specialist Trainee program is a paid program designed to provide a unique learning experience for highly motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing and learning new skills. Positions may be available on all shifts after training on 1st shift for 4-6 weeks at the facility. Upon completion of the program, individuals will be responsible for:Set up, operation and adjustment heat-treat equipment to perform carburizing, cycle annealing and die quenching of gears Physical Qualifications (With or Without Accommodation)Will work in environment that has extreme temperaturesWork in environment with frequently changing temperaturesStand for a minimum of 8 hour shiftsFrequent walking, bending, reachingOccasional stooping, crouching, and climbingRepetitive grasping, pushing, pulling rotatingBasic Qualifications:High school diploma or previous work/volunteer experienceRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or previous work/volunteer experienceKnowledge of manufacturing processes and proceduresBasic computer skillsExperience in a manufacturing environmentAbility to work overtime when required, including weekendsDesired Qualifications:Previous heat treat experiencePrevious machine shop experienceTop Candidates will also have:Strong commitment to safety at all timesExcellent attitude and willingness to learnAdditional Information:Positions are available for 2nd & 3rd shift in East Peoria Bldg.
