Under the direction of the Grants Project Director, this position works independently with high levels of responsibility and subject matter autonomy. The position requires regular collaboration with the Instructional Designer, Engineering Technologies faculty, and external partners, including high school instructors involved in dual enrollment programs. The Curriculum Developer, Subject Matter Expert, will lead the development and delivery of technical course content for the new General Engineering Technology (GET) Certificate and the Electric Vehicle Engineering Technology (EVET) associate degree. This position will also support the creation of content and resources for the Secondary Faculty Training Certificate designed for high school instructors in dual enrollment programs.The developer will collaborate closely with the Instructional Designer, the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE), and the Engineering Technologies Department to ensure technical accuracy, industry relevance, and pedagogical soundness.Position requires local travel and attendance at events outside of normal work hours.This position is primarily located on the Midlands Technical College Northeast Campus.
- A master's degree in engineering technology, applied science, or a related field.
- Or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the role.
- Experience in curriculum development or instruction in a higher education or industry setting.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering technology and electric vehicle systems.
- Experience designing curriculum or teaching in technical education environments.
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to diverse learner groups.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with instructional design principles and curriculum standards for secondary and postsecondary education.
- Comfortable using learning management systems and basic educational technology tools.
