
OSP Design & Field Engineer

- Perform field surveys to assess and document current conditions of OSP infrastructure.
- Support and execute engineering tasks related to various project types, including Pole/Make Ready, FTTP deployments, HFC, and BAU initiatives.
- Interface with customers as needed to support ongoing project requirements and design validations.
- Ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables in accordance with customer deadlines and expectations.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven experience in OSP field engineering and design, including field data collection and documentation.
- Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure, permitting, and construction standards.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external clients.
- Familiarity with GIS tools and digital data collection methods is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree (preferred)
- Must have experience in the Telecommunications Outside plant engineering and/or construction industry.
- Should have good understanding of basic computer concepts and technology. Experience with Verizon Telecoms strongly preferred.
- Should have strong understanding of Design and construction of Outside Plant Copper and Fiber Optic Cable (UG, Aerial, Buried, BICS) and manhole and conduit design (strongly preferred).
- Knowledge of Fiber backbone (F1) and distribution networks (F2).
- Should be proactive and a self-learner.
- Possess strong professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to read, understand, interpret, input, and analyze data.
- Should have good attitude and ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to communicate daily progress status to all reporting managers & stakeholders.
- Ability to be unsupervised at times and adhere to all Cyient Safety standards and regulations.
- Ability to perform Field Surveys in all weather conditions.
- Ability to walk one or more miles daily.
