- Assist in managing daily operations and drive reliability within the Local Distribution Operation, supporting 40+ streams of the owned and operated stations in a fast-paced, multichannel on-air operations environment and maintain 99.999% on-air availability and reliability for all channel origination
- Lead and support on-going training for a team of Master Control Operators; provide clear direction and guidance for the execution of all master control functions including commercial integration, manipulations and edits to the on-air playlists, and live event execution.
- Create new SOPs and operational guidelines and train others in these SOPs, issue resolution, and recovery as needed.
- Researching and documentation of on-air or potential on-air discrepancies- providing detailed write-ups of occurrences resulting in potential outages
- Facilitate day-of-air changes across multiple departments including Sales, Traffic, Programming, Promotions, and News Operations
- Deliver exceptional customer service to local (owned and operated) station partners with an unwavering desire to fulfill customers’ needs.
- Develop a deep knowledge of the operation’s technical architecture and on-air systems.
- Resolve issues quickly and effectively to prevent on-air discrepancies- De-escalating issues cross functionally (production, local station teams, traffic, engineers, etc.) in real-time.
- Manage the end-to-end execution of all live events (Today Show, Saturday Night Live, NFL, Olympics, Debates) including preparation, in-event execution, and off-air adjustments.
- Actively participate in the operation’s change control procedures by approving and maintaining awareness of all on-air maintenances and by managing critical components of maintenance operating procedures.
- Perform live event transmission tasks including booking feeds and faxing in incoming signals.
- Perform all other duties to support the success of the Network Operations Center as assigned by manager and follow company rules and policies
- BA/BS in a related field or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of experience in a broadcast operations environment
- 3+ years in a leadership role in a fast-paced environment requiring troubleshooting and processing skills, plus an ability to effectively lead, prioritize and adapt to changing scenarios
- Thorough understanding of television production, broadcast operations, and/or news/sports/entertainment technical production requirements
- Technological curiosity and an improvement-oriented approach
- Unwavering composure in high-pressure situations
- A track record of meeting or exceeding performance expectations
- Fluency in Spanish
- Acute attention to detail
