- Conduct Geotechnical field explorations, Construction observation, collect Geotechnical samples, reporting of daily field operations, review of Geotechnical data, perform Geotechnical analysis, and report writing.
- Develop material properties for soil and rock and evaluate the stability of slopes and foundations
- Prepare drafts of portions of technical proposals, reports, regulatory agency permits, as well as less complex external and internal documents.
- Coordinate and integrate geotechnical evaluations results into civil design through the collaboration of other geotechnical, structural, mechanical, and electrical designs.
- Develop tangible engineering design skills through field experience. This may include construction support (verification of design implementation, adherence to quality, contractor/owner engagement), site inspections, and Geotechnical investigations. Also provide construction support from the office by adapting designs to field conditions.
- Recognize potential opportunities for additional work within an existing project or for an existing client.
- Engage in regional projects with other offices and disciplines.
- Demonstrate ability to build trusting working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Execute project assignments while utilizing critical thinking, engineering proceedures to carry out project tasks.
- Candidate will have an opportunity to be involved in the construction of in-house designs, which will build on existing client relationships and lead to future projects.
- Use computer programs including GeoStudio, LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, Plaxis, Settle3, and MathCAD for geotechnical analyses.
- Preparing Project Work Plans and Health and Safety Plans.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering is mandatory.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in the field of Geotechnical Engineering, or a demonstrable equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is a strict requirement.
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering is highly desirable.
- Four (4) or more years of substantial experience in Geotechnical Engineering projects is preferred.
- Current Utah PE license or the capability to obtain said license within six (6) months of employment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is essential.
- Proven experience with specialized geotechnical software is advantageous.
- Comprehensive understanding of field work methodologies and practices.
- Exceptional ability to function effectively within a team environment.
