Even if you don't qualify or have specific experience in every facet of this role, we encourage you to apply for any role you're personally interested in and excited to drive positive change.PurposeAssist the Assistant Dean for Practicum Education in the planning, development and implementation of the Practicum placement process for undergraduate and graduate students of the UT Social Work.Responsibilities
  • Coordinate correspondence between agencies and the university as it relates to placement development and maintenance for student internships including leadership in the Community Partnership Development Committee.
  • Implement and provide coordination of workshops, agency fairs, student orientations and information sessions for students in coordination with the Practicum team.
  • Initiate, implement, and evaluate the practicum placement process for Social Work students each semester. Communicate with students, community-based organizations, Federal Work Study Office, and scholars representatives to prepare placements for students.
  • Manage the Office of Practicum Education including communication with students, clinical faculty liaisons, community agencies, BSW and MSSW Admissions, the DiNitto Career Center, and other University departments and Schools. Co-chair Practicum Education Committee.
  • Oversee maintenance and accuracy of student faculty and agency practicum database in coordination with practicum team.
  • Strategically organize Office of Practicum timeline and sequence of events (calendar coordination)
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.)
  • Professional demeanor
  • Experience coordinating or administering a program.
  • Experience working with students in a higher education
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize job tasks in dynamic circumstances without sacrificing accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability of excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with Word, Excel, and database systems (ability to create and modify databases).
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with faculty, staff, students, and community organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the needs of students.
  • Demonstrates agility in acquiring new knowledge
  • Proactive in identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions
Preferred Qualifications
  • A combination of two years of experience with student groups in the community, developing student programs or counseling students in an academic program setting.
  • Knowledge of university resources and administrative applications.
  • Familiarity with campus culture and student life.
  • Proficiency with survey tools (Qualtrics, surveymonkey)
Salary Range$50,000 + depending on qualificationsWorking Conditions
  • Standard office conditions with the majority of time spent in contact with students, during usual office hours.
  • This position is based in Austin, TX and is required to work on campus.
