
Echo Vascular Technologist

2. Calculate, measure, and document appropriate values on the tests performed for review and interpretation by physicians.
3. Perform diagnostic carotid arterials and venous studies of upper and lower extremities and venous studies of patients with suspected peripheral vascular disease by following ICAVL guidelines.
4. Explain procedures to patient to obtain cooperation and reduce anxieties of patient.
5. Review test results with interpreting physician.
6. Communicate with physicians, managers, and co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical conditions while undergoing echocardiogram.
7. Conduct vascular laboratory studies in accordance with the vascular laboratory protocols.
8. Maintain the vascular laboratory quality assurance database.
9. May perform therapeutic procedures such as peripheral compression.
10. Prepare and maintain operational logs.
11. Ensure that all vascular laboratory studies are scheduled in an appropriate manner to satisfy the clinical situation.
12. Calibrate and maintain equipment and orders supplies when needed.13. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications:Required Education and Experience
- Associate degree in related field preferred.
- Successfully passed the Echocardiography Registry Exam required.
- 2 current/valid certifications from the following list required: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Cardiac Sonographer, Registered Vascular Technologist, or Registered Vascular Sonographer
- 1 year related experience in an Echo/Vascular Laboratory required.
- Must possess an excellent working knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary anatomy/pathology, the cardiac patient, and treatment of cardiac diseases.
- Working knowledge of vascular arterial and venous anatomy for carotid and peripheral vasculature.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good computer skills.
- Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
