RecruiterDaniel DeCarloJob DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our technology-based program team supporting a key government customer. This program delivers engineering services for a existing large, multi-vendor, secure network infrastructure that is constantly evolving through the use and implementation of core infrastructure, firewalls and network analytics. In addition to being part of this team, this candidate will also play a crucial role in delivering individual, value-added network design and configuration services to a sub-organization that utilizes data center hosted servers, internal cloud platforms, virtualized applications utilizing containers and high-speed storage systems.
  • Candidates will have experience with the following:
  • A variety of network technologies and solution architectures, and a full working knowledge of the OSI model, routing protocols and their application to layer 3 device configurations.
  • Providing technical guidance and direction for TCP/IP transport network design and engineering, network routing protocols, and advanced virtual network technologies.
  • Optimizing network system performance, along with performing upgrades to insure high availability and resolve issues that arise.
  • Assessing network engineering technologies.
  • Identifying INFOSEC requirements, and security best practices
  • Managing relationships with device vendors and manufacturers, as well as acting as a liaison between the customer technical resources and external expertise.
  • Candidates will ideally have a strong skillset with the following:
  • Juniper QFX-series switches, JunOS
  • Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switches, Firepower devices, ASAs, IOS, NXOS
  • Automation, Knowledge Management, and Management/Monitoring tools, to include HPNA, Ansible, JIRA, Confluence and Python

  • Candidates shall have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (CS), Information Systems, or Network Engineering and at least ten (10) years of demonstrable experience in network (LAN/WAN) configuration, monitoring, security, and protection.
  • Or the individual shall have five (5) years of full time computer science work that can be substituted for the Bachelor' s degree and at least ten (10) years of demonstrable experience in network (LAN/WAN) configuration, monitoring, security, and protection.
  • IAT Level II Certification Required
